Most of the tracks that are crafted by KB would often feature a reason and context behind it’s release. Future World : Peanut’s Heaven is a great example of such a release, as it is a track that KB had composed after he failed to save a stray cat from an inevitable death, which he then chose to cope with his emotions by composing a bittersweet track to commemorate its passing. The track features a gloomy backdrop of some synths and a driving percussion that firmly grips the steering wheel for the entire song, which will eventually become the main driving force behind the whole track as the music slowly progresses from a grey rainy day of bitter farewell, to a field of flowers with beams of light shining through the darken clouds.
A special trait KB’s music has is definitely how you can somewhat recognize something he would make. Tracks are unique enough by themselves to be able to stand out from each other, while still maintaining a style which can be easily recognized even upon the first listening. From the driving spy-like atmosphere of Goodbye Boss, to the playful and exciting synths of Something Shiba, there can never be one track from KB that’d feel boring and too similar to his other tracks, and that’s what makes his identity as an artist truly unique among the bagful of indie artists.

What else being noteworthy is that KB is always open to composing music in many other genres, with the Traditional Chinese-esque type of music featured in “Something Spicy”, or the whimsical and ever-changing synths featured in “Something Playful”, even the emotional Synthwave that can be heard in “They seem like blossoms, yet…”, are all but a few special examples that are nothing but must-experiences in the library of music produced by him.
KB had always been known to be somewhat shy about his presence as an artist, but that doesn’t dissuade him from always exploring ways to compose and express his music in ambiguous ways. A person who seems to appreciate the little stories behind everyone, he is always looking to tell stories with his music, that of others and his own. Tracks such as White Deer and Familiar are prominent examples of KB thoroughly expressing his own emotions through the many things that had happened in his life, while others such as Childish and Pink Graduation are trying to convert a certain idea or feeling into music, giving them their own unique and distinct backdrop and theme to it, resulting in most of the tracks having a very special niche to it that I’m sure a lot of people can genuinely enjoy. He is, after all, the finest deer in all of Taiwan.
About His music (--my opinion--)
The songs he makes, in my opinion, are quite suitable to be in a game either as character or scenario bgm, don’t take this is in the wrong way, his works are wonderful, but it just feels like it can even more meaning if it is used in animations/games or even music videos. Just to name a few, 愁物(Something Weird) or 柴物(Something Shiba) is a perfect example, listen to it and you will know that if it is attached to a decently written character, it would’ve elevate the music to even greater heights. For example, look at Undertale, the OST for Asgore (Bergentrückung). It's a great song, but one of the main reasons why it is so great and highly praised is because of the character it is linked to.
To further support the paragraph above. Look at Tayal, a homage to old Megaman games. KB was the main composer for that game, and in that game, all of the OST matches the environment and bosses in that game. However, one of them that stands out the most is Volcano the Theme for Ganvan a flamboyant looking deer, in the boss fight his attacks and animation shows that he is confident, extremely confident to the point of slight arrogance, and the sound track Volcano reinforcing that train of thought as the 8-bits focuses on colorful and driving melodics supported by a bold harmonic, which further exaggerates the prideful nature of Ganvan (The boss featured by the track) and highlights the unique trait about him . Still, his other works which are standalone are great as well. Just if it is paired up with something, it will give it another layer of depth.
Once again, to reiterate what I’ve said at the top. These are just my opinion, so it isn’t the objective truth about anything, it is nothing more than my own subjective truth that I have from listening to KB’s work, so feel free to disagree or agree with me.
