Hey there everyone,
lately I haven’t posted as much as I’d like to have and there’s been a lack of activity. Many have asked what my plans are, if I’ve quit certain things I’ve mentioned working towards in the past, and things like when I’m going to actually finish an album. This post is to say that I haven’t forgotten any of that.
Since having a full time job with mandatory overtime occasionally and between things like having to help watch over kids, getting things done here is difficult to find time for. Even if I get paid to do things like make music, I can’t just choose to work less hours in my actual job. Just about every day I think all the time about how much I want to get things done here and wish I could just quit my job and do the things I actually want to do - but I’ve done that already before. It leads to a situation that’s even worse than this.
This week alone has been one of the most exhausting and as much as I feel like I won’t be able to get to sleep until I complete something here, half the time I fall asleep regardless of if I’m ready to or not. I had to get an adjustable desk for standing and my hands start to hurt at times from using computers all day. I could do better though, I admit. When I get home, too often I end up wasting time on things like Youtube recommendations. It’s time to kick these habits. At the same time, responding to people and messaging some of you who ask a lot can be just as much of a drain of time, so please don’t be offended if I can’t keep up responses as much anymore. I’ll probably even stick to just posts like these and tweets for a while unless it’s for things that are absolutely necessary.
With all that out of the way, I’ve decided that my next works will be focusing on three things (in order from highest priority to lowest): Club 64, music and game making.
If you’re wondering where Studio Starlight comes into this, it’s not on the list because it’s something that I feel doesn’t need much work towards at this point considering the site is put together now and I’ll be using it for posts like this anyways. As I do more collaborations, add more posts and add more content of my own, this community will hopefully grow as well.
Going back to the topic of those three things mentioned above, I can imagine some of you may be disappointed to see Club 64 on the list first, especially considering nobody really knows what it is yet. If you’re interested in “retro gaming”, hacking/modding older games or even Nintendo in general, you may be interested in this site/forum. I mainly want to do this to have as a small business on the side which will help the most in the long run. It has no connection to Studio Starlight or anything else I do and Hugo Hikari will likely help out with a lot for this. Anyone interested in possibly writing articles on the topics mentioned above would also be welcome to help out.
For music, things are going to start a bit roughly with my workflow plan. I’ll probably make a collection of live draft-ish music first before going back and working on them further. That is somewhat like how it was when I was streaming - in regards to having a “Composition” stream, and then later, a “Mastering” stream. This time however, I won’t be recording myself making the entire thing. Maybe I’ll post some WIP bits on Twitter, but aside from that, it’ll only be tracks with MIDI instruments and minimal mixing/mastering/sound design, featuring Vocaloids and focusing mainly on composition. After I make those, I’ll come back around to the best ones and commission actual singers while giving the instrumental a bit of a makeover for multiple re-releases, along with all out PVs and artist commissioned to make art for every track (rather than just one piece of artwork for an album).
By “multiple re-releases”, what I mean is that I plan for there to be at least five versions of an album for every one released. Two out of those four are the obvious “beta mix” and “final polished mix” tracks, while the third version would be for softer rearrangements made to sound well when translated to music box strips. The last two special version “albums” would be for remixes and/or rearrangements. It’s hard to say an “album with just stems from every version” is really an album, at all, but it would be available at least for people to do what they choose to do with objects. Incorporating stories and merch is also part of the plan, but it’s not something I want to go into talking about much here yet.

Finally that brings me to the topic of making games. I have a lot of ideas on my mind that I want to make into games, so I still plan to of course. Unfortunately I just don’t have the time to focus on making a real full-length adventure game and will only be able to focus on smaller projects and arcade-like games. This means I will still finish the Dungeon Maker project which has been asked about, but the other project will be put on hold indefinitely. In the future, those bigger games will likely be made based on both the smaller arcade-like games and the music I put together now, and finding people like the artists for things mentioned above now will help me more easily with putting together the right team for a project like that later.
So yea, don't expect a ton right now, but some things. I'm still here.

Oh right, I never explained why I left Discord and "came back" (let you guys make a new server). Maybe next time I'll explain all that.
